In the year 2000 plus six, Colonel “Brad” Bradbury while flying to the rocket base in Rocket X-93, crashes and is seriously injured. Colonel Bradbury is absolutely necessary for a test rocket launch scheduled for the next day. However, he has sustained a “cracked skull.” He is taken into surgery immediately and given a metal plate in his skull.
The top secret rocket that was scheduled and now delayed is a new type of “two way” rocket that can both land on the moon and return while being remotely controlled from the earth. The new rocket is critical to the political concerns of the United States who believe that whoever “controls the moon controls the world” and if another nation gets their first the world is in trouble.

Since Colonel Bradbury has begun to recover he begins telling them that he hears strange messages from Mars.
A strange twist in the story is the two surgeons, Dr Ridgeo and Dr Keyes, caring for him are actually spies for a foreign power of the Eastern Alliance.
General Hilton calls in some Army doctors to evaluate him and the two spies, Dr Ridgeo and Dr Keyes, are concerned that the Doctors are actually part of Army Intellegance and that their plot to steal secret rocket plans will be uncovered.
The Army Doctors discover that the plate in Colonel Bradbury’s head is acting as a radio receiver and the messages he hears are between someone on Earth communicating with Mars where they appear to be trying to stop the moon test rocket. They also uncover the two spies and they are arrested.
Another twist in the story comes when it turns out that the Generals aide is one of the Martians and his plan to protect the existence of their secret base on the moon leaving the Martians as the only ones capable of space travel. The aide devises a ploy to distract the Army by using the exposing of the two Doctors as spies for the Eastern Alliance as the cause of strange messages.
To really follow this complicated plot you will have to listen below to this episode of 2000 Plus.
