An Atomo Power Shovel, A futuristic machine with a large scoop like shovel, is brought in to help with removing the meteorite. Professor James King, a meteor expert who is supervising the removal of the meteor when the Atomo Power Shovel’s scoop is destroyed. Commander Correy orders that no more attempts to remove the meteorite until a scoop is found made of endurium.
The next morning Commander Correy, Major Robertson, Professor King and Cadet Happy are gathered near the meteorite crater. Commander Correy won’t let them to attempt removal until he conducts a couple of tests. His testing is to toss some small fragments of common metal at the meteorite. First he throws a piece of steel, then a piece of nickle and each of them disintegrated. Then Buzz throws a piece of endurium which does not disintegrate.
Correy then give permission to use the Atomo Power Shovel, now equipped with an endurium shovel, to remove the metal and place it in an endurium crate for transportation to Terra.
After preliminary studies are done Professor King reports that the metal will have a violent reaction to any metal that the meteorite itself contains. He says that he and his colleague Dr. Rowlins have concluded that the meteorite is made of reverse matter (what we would call today anti-matter). He explains that atoms in our universe are composed of negatively charged electrons whirling around a positively charged nucleus. The reverse matter is composed of negatively charged nucleus with positively charged electrons. The reverse matter was undoubtedly from another Universe.
The plot thickens when Major Robertson comes in and reports that the Space Dispatcher has informed him that the meteorite has been placed on the wrong Space Freighter carrying mining equipment and is on it’s way to Venus.
Commander Correy race after the Space Freighter in Terra V and finally over take him as the Space Freighter enters Venus’s atmosphere. They find out that the Space Freighter is having mechanical problems with his rocket controls and is trying to make an emergency landing outside of Venus City. Correy then explains that he needs to be very cautious because his unintended cargo.
Unfortunately, Bill Craig, the Space Freighter Pilot now in an Ammonia Storm has lost control and crashed into the side of a mountain near a dam just outside of Venus City. What happens next?
