Major Robertson reports to Commander Corry that Kolmar is behind in processing his message traffic and is sending out a wild beam consisting of gibberish past Pluto. Corry dismisses the signal as the consequences of Kolmar’s exhaustion from working without an assistant.
Once Kolmar and Perkins are together on Saturn COM Relay 4 the two reveal that they each have a strange crystal which communicates with them and that these crystals are from a distant world, outside our solar system, named Zeldabran.
Despite there now being both Kolmar and Perkins on Saturn COM Relay 4 the station is continuing to fall behind in it’s mission to relay radio messages. Commander Corry orders all Space Patrol message traffic for Saturn COM Relay 4 to be diverted to Saturn COM Relay 3 and he and Cadet Happy head to Saturn COM Relay 4 to investigate.
The Crystals of Zeldabran are connected to the Space Station’s Space-A-Phone for the signal beaming into deep space. With the approach of Terra V they warn Kolmar and Perkins of Corry and Happy’s approach.
Once the Commander and Cadet are onboard, Kolmar and Perkins use the crystals to take control of the two Space Patrolmen. Locking Corry and Happy in a storage locker where they over hear Kolmar and Perkins discussing another man who also has a Zeldabran Crystal, Zoltan Zepaloo. They Plan to contact this Zoltan Zepaloo to help them move the space station out beyond the Pluto orbit to minimize the interference their beamed signal is getting from the sun.
Meanwhile, Commander Corry uses his Miniature Space-A-Phone to contact Major Robertson to intercept Zoltan Zepaloo. As he completes his message to Robby, Kolmar and Perkins discover the Miniature Space-A-Phone and destroy it. Their plan to use a ship provided by Zoltan Zepaloo is thwarted they decide to use Terra V.
