The investigation into the plot against Venus continues aboard the space liner. After the RDX bomb is jettisoned, Tom Corbett and Roger Manning learn that Alexandria Stone was in fact killed in her attempt to escape the ship in a Jet Boats airlock.
While searching Alexandria Stone’s cabin aboard the space liner they find a locket with a hidden piece of paper that mentions Venus Atmosphere Station #5.

Once on the surface of Venus Tom and Roger head to Atmosphere Station #5 where they are given a tour by the Captain Bridges the Commanding Officer. During the tour there is an explosion and alarm. Investigation reveals the “accident” was in fact an half hearted attempt of sabatoge. They realize the attempt was not intended to destroy the plant but kill the two Cadets.
The man responsible for the explosion, a man named Ford, turns himself in to the Cadets to make a deal with the Solar Guard in exchange for leaniency. Ford agrees to take the Tom and Roger to where the leaders of the revolt are but is actually leading the Cadets into a trap.
Once Ford take them to where the leaders are they learn that Nelson Deagon is actually the leader of the revolution. Tom informs Nelson Deagon that he has been carrying a tracer transmitter and that it is leading Captain Bridges to their location with a detachment of men.
Nelson Deagon pulls his Heat Ray Gun. . .
