Our story opens on the Planet Pluto in Pluto City where Commander Corey and Cadet Happy are waiting to meet with Professor Malcolm Walker, of the United Planets Research Foundation, whose rocketship has apparently gone missing. The Commander has ordered a search of Planet Pluto for the Professor. After several hours Buzz and Happy locate a downed rocketship and land nearby to investigate. A search of the rocket reveals that it is the Professors ship and that it is lightly damaged. The Professor himself is no where to be found. He did leave a note explaining that his Space-A-Phone was damaged by the crash. He explains that he saw a flash nearby and has decided to leave the ship to investigate the flash of light.
Corey and Happy return to the Terra V to follow after the Professor. Meanwhile two men, Hagle and Rorman, stumble on the Professor unconscious in the ice. Rorman brings the Professor to their cave headquarters where they revive him and introduce themselves as geologists.

These missing episodes in the Space Patrol radio show series are another of the tragedies of lost radio episodes. Though we believe we know the title of these episodes the story lines are not known. It is one of the tragedies of collecting old time radio (OTR) that many of these old gems are lost forever and only occasionally does one of these lost shows turn up from a previously unknown source.
* The Old Time Radio Researchers Organization Database indicates that these episodes are lost and no longer available. Anyone who may discover a copy of this "Lost" episode and would like to get it into public circulation please contact Spaceman (Senior Rating) Ray.

Picture of a Classic Rocketship of the 1950s
Below is a list of classic space travel movies listed by the decades. For this original publication I am including classic space travel movies from the 1950′ and 1960′. I will over time in later publications add additional decades. In later revisions I will update this list to include classic space travel movies produced as early as the first decade in the 1900′s and even movies right up to 2010 and (over time) beyond.
Once I add a decade in this list I believe I have a fairly comprehensive list, but, if you see a movie you know about is missing from the list, please use the comment system to tell me and the other visitors about it. This list is a work in progress because I am constantly finding some new gem I either had forgot about or never new of to begin with.

Commander Correy has his assistant Security officer Tonga on Titan (Saturn’s sixth moon) to investigate a scheme to pirate uranium mines which involves a feud between a spaceport official and a grizzled old veteran space pilot named Captain Gustav Krueger (Marvin Miller). He is being accused of dealing in the black market of processed foods and antibiotics. Captain Krueger in his ancient space freighter The “Lonesome Lena” has been plying Saturn and the Saturn Moons space lanes for decades. He is a “seat of the pants” pilot who chews Calium Seeds (from Venus) as a natural cure for Space Sickness. The only drawback for the Calium Seeds is they turn your fingers purple.
Corey’s and Tonga’s investigation of the scheme to pirate uranium mines on Titan leads him into a feud between a spaceport official named Sherwin McCurdy (Norman Jolley) and Captain Krueger.

The Space Patrol Radio Show ran from October 1952 to March 1955 for 129 known episodes. The same cast of actors performed on both the TV and the radio shows. Included here is the series log for the radio version. As there was also a Space Patrol Television version running simultaneously that version of the show will be discussed elsewhere on this website.
As a further note it is one of the tragedies of collecting old time radio (OTR) that many of these old gems are lost forever and only occasionally does one of these lost shows does turn up from a previously unknown source.
