Dimension X
Based on the short story by Frederick Brown the story starts and ends with “The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock on the door…”
The show’s announcer begins by saying “a sweet blood curdling story that is only two sentences long. The last man on Earth sat alone in a room. There was a knock on the door…” The story goes on and elaborates on those two sentences and builds a more complete story around them.
The story is about Walter Phelan, the last man on Earth. An Immortal space faring race calling themselves the Zan have invaded the earth and have killed off all life other than pairs of animal specimens for their zoo.

Picture of a Classic Rocketship of the 1950s
Welcome to this new category for Classic Space Travel here at Spacemen’s Luck. Space Travel Movies of the 1950’s and 1960’s is important for those of you, like myself, who got your vision of space travel from the radio and TV of the 1950’s.
In the series “Space Travel Movies” I will have show descriptions, cast members, production credits and plot lines for movies made during the 1950’s and 1960’s. Additionally, I will be adding my own reviews for these classics. Of course I am biased toward any and all science fiction space travel movies, serials, TV shows, radio episodes and books created during those golden days of space travel.

Journey into Space
The first Journey Into Space series was originally titled “Journey to the Moon” and was originally intended to have 12 episodes, and 5.1 million people tuned in to the first episode, but the first four episodes (which took place on Earth) didn’t prove very popular, and the audience soon shrank to less than 4 million.
However, once the rocket set off for the Moon in episode 5, the audience reaction was much more favorable. The series was extended to 18 episodes, and by the time the final episode was broadcast, 8 million people were tuning in.

After an all system alert goes out the ship is found out beyond the Neptune orbit. Unfortunately one of the passengers was kidnapped during the robbery. Commander Correy finds out that it is the Secretary General of the United Planets’s daughter, Carol Carlyle.
Thanks to Carol’s Miniature Space-A-Phone (which must not be widely used because the bad guys’s don’t suspect) she is able to contact Buzz and Happy and provide a signal that they can use to follow The Sleep Walker’s Class C Private Cruiser, PCP85. 2000 Plus
It is the far distant future and the date is 16 May 2040. The International League of Planetary Scientist have concluded that an expedition to Mars is plausible. Professor H. D. White, the Chairman of the League, has issued a statement that intelligent life on Mars like our own is highly probable and that a space journey towards the fourth planet now looks possible.
Two teenager boys begin to ponder the meaning of life and wish to make a name for themselves by being the first people on the red surface of Mars. Mickey Turner and Jink hear the news announcement and can’t help but feel excited about a space flight to Mars. Mickey, in particular, can’t wait to go to Mars, and even imagines being the first person to land there. Fueled by this daring idea, Mickey persuades his friend Jink to help him build a ship that would fly them to the red planet.

2000 Plus
Unfortunately 2000 Plus is one of those Old Time Radio Show series that most of the episodes are lost (forever? Let’s hope not!). The few episodes that I do have will be made available for listing over time. Below is a sequential list of both season one and season two. I have compiled this list from several other online lists and cannot be sure it is accurate. If you see any discrepancies please use the comment system below to bring it to my attention.
Anyone who may discover a copy of this "Lost" episode and would like to get it into public circulation please contact Spaceman (Senior Rating) Ray.
